Six things, done properly.

From native mobile apps to cloud-hosted systems and the integrations between them. The same approach throughout: understand the problem first, build what fits, stay available after launch.

Mobile Software Development

Native iOS and Android apps and cross-platform builds in Flutter, designed mobile-first. Offline-first data capture, background sync, push notifications and app store release, built for performance, usability and scale.

How I work

You always know where things stand.

Most software projects fail on communication, not code. Mine run on a simple rule: you always know where things stand, and what you get at the end is yours.

  • Weekly written progress reports, so you are never left wondering
  • Milestones agreed upfront and tracked through the build
  • Documentation, a clean repository and a clear handover: you own the code
  • Staging and production environments, backups and monitoring from day one
  • Support after launch: retainers, SLA-backed bugfixes and ongoing improvements

Built for the long haul

Reliability, clarity, partnership.

Instead of forcing your needs into pre-existing templates, I analyse your requirements first and propose solutions that fit. Discovery, build, ship, support.

You own the code, the accounts and the infrastructure. Documentation and a clean repository come as standard, and I stay available after launch.

Questions

Questions clients ask

Straight answers to the things most people want to know before they get in touch.

Where are you based, and do you work with clients overseas?

I'm based in New Zealand and work remote-first, with clients in New Zealand and overseas. I'm comfortable working across time zones, and because every project gets a written progress report each week, distance doesn't get in the way.

How much does it cost to build a mobile app or website?

It depends on scope, which is why every project starts with discovery. Once I understand the problem, I propose a solution and an estimate broken into milestones, agreed upfront, so there are no surprises along the way.

How long does a project take?

Timelines are set per milestone during discovery. A small website or a single integration is a much smaller job than a full mobile app; either way you see working progress every week, not a reveal at the end.

Which technologies do you use?

Flutter for cross-platform iOS and Android apps; TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Pages, D1 and R2 for hosting and back ends; .NET where a client runs on it; Supabase for databases and authentication; and Azure, AWS or DigitalOcean where a project calls for them.

Who owns the code?

You do. Every project ends with a clean handover: documented code in a repository you own, with environments, backups and monitoring already in place.

What happens after launch?

I stay available. A monthly retainer gives you priority access for bugfixes, small improvements and questions, and a bugfix SLA sets out response and fix windows for critical issues. See Support for details.

Tell me about the problem.

A mobile app, a system that needs to talk to another, a site that should simply work. Describe it in a few lines and I'll reply with questions, not a quote.
